A multibillion-dollar deal between Nvidia and the UAE has been suspended due to concerns from U.S. officials.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the UAE’s multibillion-dollar agreement with Nvidia for the purchase of artificial intelligence chips has been temporarily halted over security concerns. U.S. officials are worried about the potential transfer of these chips to China.
Initially, Emirati and Saudi officials had assured the United States that they would implement oversight measures to prevent the transfer of AI chips to China. However, American concerns have reportedly intensified once again.
There are even reports suggesting that the Trump administration is considering further restricting chip exports to countries like Thailand and Malaysia to prevent smuggling into China.
