If you think endless scrolling on Instagram is harmless, it might be time to hear from the CEO of an AI giant.
Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, urged users to spend less time endlessly scrolling through social media and instead make greater use of artificial intelligence tools. He described this behavioral shift not as a personal gain, but as a way to create value in the society of the future.
According to Srinivas, those who develop the skills to use AI will have more successful careers in the future. In his view, in a rapidly evolving job market, individuals who adapt to new technologies will have a better chance of being hired.
Srinivas also pointed to a major challenge facing humanity: the rapid pace of change in the field of artificial intelligence. As reported by Business Insider, he believes that keeping up with AI—which gets updated every few months—is difficult for many, and may lead to fatigue or even cause some people to give up.
The Perplexity CEO warned that some jobs will disappear due to an inability to adapt to new developments. To respond to this situation, he said, people will either need to become entrepreneurs themselves or learn to use AI and become valuable contributors within emerging companies.
Continuing the conversation, other tech leaders have also shared similar or differing views. Some, like the CEO of Nvidia and the co-founder of DeepMind, have a positive outlook on AI advancements. Others, such as Geoffrey Hinton and Dario Amodei, have warned about widespread job displacement. But the shared message is clear: the future belongs to those who adapt quickly to artificial intelligence.
