Elon Musk claims that Grok 4, his latest AI model, is the most advanced artificial intelligence in the world.
Unveiling Grok 4, Musk made a bold statement: “This is the smartest AI on Earth.”
The launch event began over an hour late but was watched live by more than 1.5 million people. According to Musk, Grok 4 managed to solve about 25% of the questions in the Humanity’s Last Exam without any special tools. He added, “I hope Grok will discover useful new technologies by the end of this year, or at the latest next year—maybe even new physics.”
Musk plans to enable Grok to interact with the physical world through humanoid robots. While he expressed concerns about AI surpassing human intelligence, he remarked: “It will probably be fine… and even if it’s not, I’d rather be alive to see what happens.”
xAI introduced five new voices for Grok’s voice mode and announced that the model’s response time has been halved in recent months. Musk also revealed major investments in video generation and understanding.
xAI has faced criticism over recent changes to Grok’s internal guidelines, including encouraging “politically incorrect” remarks and promoting controversial, negative views toward the media.
