Google’s AI Can Now Make Phone Calls on Behalf of Users!

American users can now use Google’s AI to inquire about prices and availability of goods and services.

Google’s AI is now capable of making phone calls to businesses in the U.S. on behalf of users. In fact, the AI can inform individuals about the price or availability of items without them having to speak on the phone.

This new AI feature from Google had been in a testing phase since the beginning of this year, and even now it is only available for certain businesses like dry cleaners, auto repair shops, and pet groomers.

When users search for a specific business, an option labeled “Have AI check pricing” appears in the search results. By selecting this option, Google prompts users to provide details such as the type of pet, the services needed, and the preferred time of visit. According to Ravi Stein, Vice President of Google Search Products, this tool uses Gemini and Duplex to make the calls and displays the results in text form.

Business owners can disable AI calls by adjusting their Google profile settings. The service is now available to all users in the U.S., but subscribers to the AI Pro and AI Ultra plans have greater flexibility in using it.

In addition, Google is also testing the Gemini 2.5 Pro model for AI Mode to enhance its AI-powered features. The Deep Search feature is also expected to be integrated with AI Mode in the future.
