Not all AI features on your phone will likely stay free forever — but there are some you can use without charge, permanently.
Since introducing its artificial intelligence features under the name Galaxy AI, Samsung has repeatedly stated that these capabilities would be available for free for a limited time. However, this has caused confusion among users about exactly which features will remain free and until when.
In its recent official announcements, Samsung declared the end of 2025 as the deadline for free use of certain Galaxy AI features. Now, to clear up any uncertainty, the company has specified which of these AI tools will be free forever.
According to Samsung, all Galaxy AI features that come pre-installed on Galaxy devices will remain free permanently. This means features developed directly by Samsung will not require payment in the future and will stay accessible at no cost.
Galaxy AI capabilities are divided into two categories:
- The first category includes features independently developed by Samsung, such as Audio Eraser, Object Eraser, Note Assist, Generative Wallpaper, Live Translate, and Writing Assist. These features will remain free forever.
- The second category consists of tools based on Google’s Gemini AI, over which Samsung has no control regarding pricing policies. These features are currently free but may become paid in the future.
As Samsung may collaborate with companies like Perplexity in the future and introduce new AI tools, some upcoming AI features might come with a cost. However, users can rest assured that all AI tools developed by Samsung itself will stay free, allowing them to enjoy the Galaxy AI experience with peace of mind.
