Tyler Technologies to revamp digital services for California State Parks

Tyler Technologies on Tuesday announced that the California Department of Parks and Recreation signed an eight-year agreement with the firm to improve the state’s park reservation system using its Outdoor Recreation tool, becoming a one-stop shop for California State Parks’ digital services.

The new platform builds off Tyler’s recreation management system, used by California State Parks since 2016, to help users explore parks, reserve campsites and buy day passes. The company’s Outdoor Recreation software offers offers a single website for California state park use — everything from reservation booking to transactions.

A major IT service provider to the public sector, Tyler Technologies has recently come under scrutiny for its software Odyssey, which has been hit in recent cybersecurity incidents, including in Kansas’ state court system last October and in Fulton County, Georgia, last month.
